Anshika Suri is an architect and urban development planner who works as the Programme Manager for the interdisciplinary masters “International Cooperation in Urban Development-Mundus Urbano” and as a postdoctoral researcher for the “Graduate School of Urban Studies-URBANgrad” in the Department of Architecture at Technische Universität Darmstadt, Germany. She holds a doctorate from the Department of Architecture at TU Darmstadt and has completed her bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the Sushant School of Art and Architecture, India, and a Joint European Double Degree Master (M.Sc. Mundus Urbano) in both International Cooperation in Urban Development from the TU Darmstadt, Germany, and International Cooperation in Sustainable Emergency Architecture from the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya, Barcelona, Spain. Building on her interest in rethinking cities and infrastructures through a gendered perspective, her PhD project contributed to the understanding of the urban sanitation challenge faced by women in informal settlements in the cities of Dar es Salaam and Nairobi. Her current research interests focus on investigating the inclusion of an intersectional perspective in urban development and planning discourses.
